Live: Pakistan vs South Africa, Pakistan to bowl first

Pakistan won the toss and chose to bowl first.

Hello and welcome! We’re thrilled to have you with us as we count down to the first ODI of the series.

Pakistan is set to play their first match of the ODI series against South Africa in Faisalabad on November 4.

It marks the first international match in Faisalabad in 17 years.

The last international match at the venue was played on April 11, 2008, between Pakistan and Bangladesh.

In the ODI squad, Faisal Akram, Haris Rauf, and Haseebullah have all returned to the lineup.

Fakhar Zaman, who missed the West Indies series due to injury, has also made his comeback.

Meanwhile, Abdullah Shafique, Mohammad Haris, Sufiyan Muqeem, and Hasan Ali, who were part of the West Indies squad for the ODI series, have been excluded from the squad.

The PCB has also replaced the previous ODI captain, Mohammad Rizwan, under whom Pakistan lost the last ODI series against the West Indies after 34 years, with left-arm pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi.

After levelling the Test series 1-1, Pakistan clinched the T20I series 2-1 against South Africa and are now set for the ODI series.

In their ODI last encounter during the Tri-Nation Series in Pakistan, the hosts emerged victorious against the Proteas.
