Police launch ‘TRACS’ app, here’s how to check violations, fines in Karachi

In a move toward modernization and transparency, the Karachi Traffic Police has introduced a mobile application titled “TRACS for Citizens” – a smart tool designed to help residents monitor their e-challans and stay updated on traffic violations.

Here’s how you can install, register, and make the most of this new digital service.

How and where to install TRACS application?

Citizens can download the “TRACS for Citizens” app directly from the Sindh Police official website at www.sindhpolice.gov.pk.

Once downloaded, the app can be easily installed on any compatible smartphone.

How to Register

After installation, users must register their profile by providing:

  • Full name
  • CNIC (Computerized National Identity Card) number
  • Mobile phone number
  • Email address

After entering these basic details, log in to access your personalized dashboard.

Key Features of the App

Upon logging in, users will find a range of useful features:

  • Vehicle Information: The top left of the screen displays the number of vehicles registered under your name are visible.
  • Demerit Points: On the top left of your screen, the current traffic demerit score helps you keep track of your driving record.
  • E-Challan Details: A dedicated E-Challan tab provides complete details of any violation – including the date, time, location, and image of the infraction.
  • Notifications: Receive instant warnings and challan alerts from Karachi Traffic Police directly through the app, along with a PSID number that enables violators to pay their challans online or via bank.
  • Feedback and Complaints: Users can also submit suggestions or file complaints directly through the app’s interface.

Karachi Traffic Police officials have warned citizens against fraudulent messages sent from public numbers claiming to issue e-challans.

Only the official TRACS system is authorized to generate and notify users about traffic fines.

Currently, over 1,076 cameras are operational across Karachi under the TRAC (Traffic Regulation and Control) system, monitoring violations and issuing e-challans automatically.
